This was the line-up of speakers at the Interzero Environmental Conference, held on 18-19 September. Monica Richardson
Journalist and TV presenter
A Polish Iberian, journalist and TV presenter, she is not only the founder of the renowned Richardson School language school, but also an experienced media speaking trainer. As a presenter and speaker at the anniversary Interzero 2023 Environmental Conference, she brought her knowledge and experience to important discussions on media and culture.
Monika Richardson is also an active participant in campaigns to raise Poles' awareness of ecology. Her involvement in these initiatives highlights her social role and her desire to influence positive change in society. As a leader and inspirational figure, Monika Richardson is gaining recognition both in the media world and in the field of education and social action.
Pawel Lesiak
Vice-President, Interzero
Paweł Lesiak has more than 20 years of experience in the environmental industry. He is an expert in the field of recovery and recycling of packaging waste and an experienced speaker in the Polish arena. He started his career at Branżowa Organizacja Odzysku S.A., first as a Sales Coordinator, then taking the position of Commercial Director. He is President of the Board of the Foundation for Ecological and Educational Solutions "GREEN". He has been initiating legislative changes in the area of waste management for years. Active participant in working groups at the Ministry of Environment and Climate, the Confederation of Leviathan, PIGO and member of the PIOIRO council.
He has worked at Interzero for more than 10 years. He first fulfilled himself as Regional Director and then as Managing Director. For more than 5 years, he has been Vice President of the Management Board of the Interzero Group. In his role, he is responsible for, among other things, the sale of regulated and non-regulated services, the search for new business opportunities and the establishment of strategic partnerships.
Marta Szymborska
Board Member, GS1 Poland
Marta Szymborska has been involved in sustainability for 15 years. She implemented Raben Group's first sustainability strategy for 11 countries. She was responsible for the creation, implementation and execution of PR, ESG and social engagement strategies. Since 2017, she has been responsible for ESG in the global organisation GS1 Poland. Sustainability reports co-created by her were awarded three times in the competition for the best sustainability reports organised by the Responsible Business Forum.
She has written more than 200 publications on sustainability. In 2022, she defended her PhD on the impact of ESG strategies on brand image. In 2023, she helped develop ESG strategies - for No Limit, Arra Group, Solar, Alfa Terminal, among others. She teaches ESG at the first MBA ESG course at Lazarski University and EMBA at Kaliska Academy. She is a member of the Taxonomy Group at the Ministry of Development and Technology. She has trained more than 2,000 people on ESG in 2023. She is the content manager of the EGS Transformation Manager course.
Pawel Sosnowski
Board Agent for Environmental Regulation, Interzero
Long-time employee of the central administration, former head of the Department of Waste Management at the Ministry of Climate and Environment participating in the development of, inter alia, the current legislation on packaging and post-consumer waste management, including the provisions of the Act of 13 June 2013 on packaging and packaging waste management and its subsequent amendments. Expert on waste management. Author of numerous studies on waste management issues.Serves as Board Representative for Environmental Regulation at Interzero since 2023.
Wiktoria Płocha
Sustainability Leader, IKEA Retail Ltd.
Both privately and professionally, she has been involved in environmental protection and sustainability for many years. She started her journey by gaining experience in the field of environmental law at a consulting firm and then working with the topic of energy efficiency. She worked as a sustainability manager at Carrefour Poland, dealing with the implementation of the sustainability strategy at the operational level as well as its implementation within the organisation.
She joined IKEA in 2021 as Sustainability Leader, being responsible for the implementation of the Circular & Climate Positive pillar, within IKEA's sustainability strategy - People & Planet Positive. She leads projects and initiatives in the area of circularity and climate positivity.
Przemyslaw Kuna
Managing Director, Interzero
Przemyslaw Kuna holds the position of Managing Director at Interzero. He is a consultant in the area of environmental protection. He is a graduate of the Technical University of Lodz. For many years, he has been involved in audits of entrepreneurs in terms of fulfilling their obligations arising from legal requirements and implementing corrective measures related to environmental protection. On a daily basis, he performs functions related to supervision and coordination of activities in the areas of environmental consultancy, environmental education and sustainable development.
Agata Ryś
Member of the Management Board, Interzero
Agata Ryś is an experienced sales and environmental professional with over 20 years of experience in the industry. For more than 5 years she held the role of Sales Director at Interzero, where she successfully managed the sales team and developed commercial strategies. Since September 2024, she has been a member of Interzero's Management Board.
Expert in the field of obligations for introducers of packaging, products, batteries and electrical and electronic equipment. She is currently focusing on developing innovative solutions based on digitalisation. She supports clients in creating tailor-made environmental solutions and proposing measures to close the raw material cycle.
Agata Ryś contributes to the development of standards and certification in the packaging industry by serving on the board of PIOIRO, and is also involved in the Foundation for Ecological and Educational Solutions "Green" by serving as a Council Member.
Piotr Mazurek
Closed-cycle economy expert, Lewiatan Confederation
Piotr Mazurek is an expert on the Closed Loop Economy, who also has many years of experience in public relations and public affairs. During his career, he has worked mainly on projects related to waste management and pharmaceuticals in the broadest sense, where he was involved in monitoring legislative work, coordinating positions and contacting decision-makers. He gained professional experience, among others, in packaging recovery organisations and industry associations.
At the Lewiatan Confederation, he is responsible for regulations related to waste management and, in particular, issues related to packaging and packaging waste, the deposit system, and the closed-loop economy. He coordinates the work of the Closed Circuit Economy Council and the Extended Producer Responsibility Working Group.
Karolina Przewłocka
Key Account Manager, Interzero
Karolina Przewłocka is an experienced recycling industry specialist who has been with Interzero since January 2020. She is characterised by her commitment, conscientiousness and open communication with the team. As Key Account Manager since 2024, she provides support to the Made4Loop project, where she is responsible for building relationships with key customers of cups and reusable packaging
in the reimbursement system. Graduate of the Bolesław Markowski School of Economics.
Konrad Nowakowski
Packaging Ecodesign Advisor, President of PIOIRO
Konrad Nowakowski is the President of the Polish Chamber of Packaging Recovery and Recycling, which is currently one of the key business environment organisations implementing tasks in accordance with the concept of extended producer responsibility, bringing together entities from various industries, actively cooperating with governmental and local authorities. On a day-to-day basis, it carries out tasks related to packaging waste management, eco-design and issues related to the Closed Circuit Economy.
Experienced in the practical application and interpretation of environmental legislation, in particular waste laws including product laws. Active in advisory bodies, the Council for Sustainable Food Use and working groups at ministries. Author of numerous publications, implementations and patents in the scientific area of life cycle assessments LCA, environmental footprint PEF, recycling technologies, eco-design and packaging systems.
Joanna Leoniewska-Gogola

Joanna Leoniewska-Gogola is a leader of the circular economy team in Poland and Central Europe, Deloitte In the Sustainability & Economics team she advises the public and private sector in the area of circular economy and towards finding the link between economically efficient and environmentally sound waste management.
She advises companies on aligning with national and EU policies by examining the environmental impact of their activities. She specialises in the development of sustainable, circular business models and transposition strategies towards GOZ also in the context of non-financial CSRD reporting. She also assists companies in adapting IT systems to support management and monitoring of implemented activities. He cooperates within the value chain in organisations such as the Lewiatan Confederation and the National Chamber of Commerce.
Mateusz Jemioł

Producer and advertising director with over 20 years of experience. He has more than 600 film projects to his credit. He has worked for brands such as Bosch, Intel, Nordea, Wedel, PayPo and Dr. Oetker. Winner of several Polish Independent Cinema awards and the Golden Lions at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia.
For the past few months, he has been successfully creating a channel on TikTok, where he talks about creative video marketing. He has already amassed 130,000 followers and his videos have been viewed by more than 10 million unique users.

GS1 Standards Implementation Manager, consultant and advisor on automatic identification based on GS1 global standards. Agata Rudnicka

For almost two decades, she has been involved in activities to promote and disseminate social responsibility and sustainable development. Associated with the Faculty of Management at the University of Łódź, the Responsible Business Forum and the Polish Institute of Human Rights and Business. Cooperates with companies and business environment institutions for sustainable transformation. Expert of the Climate Leadership programme of the UNEP/Grid-Warsaw Centre and coordinator of the Due Diligence working group in the Governance Compass programme of the UN Global Compact Network Poland. Educator, trainer, mediator and passionate about modern teaching methods. She has conducted about 10000 hours of lectures, exercises, trainings and workshops. Sustainable business models and value chains are particularly close topics for her. Mateusz Grupa has been active in the automotive industry for 12 years. At BMW Polska, he is in charge of implementing electromobility standards at 42 BMW dealerships in Poland. Paweł Kania

Paweł Kania graduated, among others, in "Busiess Administration" at Oxford Brookes University and "International Economics" at the Warsaw School of Economics. He took his first professional steps in Warsaw, where he was responsible for sales of consumer electronics products and IT&Telco services in the B2B sector. His passion for international markets and new technologies led him to London, where for 3 years he held the role of Sales and Business Development Manager for 15 countries in Central and Eastern Europe. Upon his return to Poland, he took on the role of Sales and Business Development Leader at a Polish-British FinTech company that developed a standard for trading digital money and other data based on its own variant of blockchain technology.
Currently, at Orange Polska, he is involved in a strategic project of building the market for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) for Industry 4.0 and international cooperation in the Orange Group. It is worth mentioning that Mr Paweł spends his free time travelling - as he adds, travelling educates and he draws inspiration from it for further professional projects.
Filip Piotrowski

Co-founder of the Polish Zero Waste Association, expert in environmental sociology and social problems. Involved in projects on legal changes concerning the closed loop economy, in particular extended producer responsibility and deposit systems.

Until 1.5 years, leader of the group responsible for the preparation of the approach in Eurocash Group to non-transitory regulations related to waste management and, in particular, the issues concerning packaging and packaging waste, the deposit system.
Dr. Richard von Goetze
Head of Strategy, Interzero Plastics Recycling
Dr Richard von Goetze is Head of Strategy at Interzero Plastics Recycling GmbH in Germany and is the Chemical Recycling Lead for the Interzero Group. Richard has a background in chemistry and a PhD in polymer catalysis. Prior to joining the Interzero Group, Richard worked as a consultant on international projects in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. At Interzero, he was responsible for the commercialisation of the sorting process leading to the largest light packaging plant (LWP) in Europe, based on a process developed by Interzero Plastics Recycling's CTO, Thomas Herkert. He and his team are currently working on new Interzero partnerships in mechanical and chemical recycling.
He is looking forward to discussing opportunities for recycling companies in the field of chemical recycling and exchanging experiences with industry experts from Poland.
Agnieszka Deryng

Since 2016, she has been a managing director in manufacturing companies, where she has successfully managed production, sales, marketing and finance. She specialises in strategic management, building effective teams and management development. She is an expert in leading transformations and creating innovative business models.
As a director, she is responsible for the company's liquidity and for shaping its long-term strategy. She boldly makes key investment decisions, implements advanced control processes and sets innovative developments. She applies an Agile approach to her work, focusing on process analysis and optimisation.
Since 2018, she has been sharing her knowledge as a mentor in the "Szczecin_Up!" programme supporting local start-ups, as well as running her own consulting business. Currently, working for Tedmark, she focuses on developing the company towards innovative and ecological solutions that impact the entire packaging and catering industry.
