On 18-20 September 2024, Sopot became the capital of sustainable development! The Interzero Environmental Conference covered the most important and up-to-date topics related to legislation, environmental protection and ESG. During the event, we delved into topics including: the circular economy, extended producer responsibility, the SUP directive, the CSDR regulation, the bail-in system announced from 2025, strategies to make businesses more circular and marketing campaigns to support public environmental education.

The Interzero Environmental Conference is not only a series of talks by industry specialists. It is also a joint discussion on European requirements for entrepreneurs, challenges related to the availability of raw materials, the development of sustainable businesses and economic transformation. During the event, we held two debates to discuss the above issues and possible solutions.

Day I - 18 September 2024.

Bail system - threat or opportunity for waste management?

As early as 2025, a universal deposit system will be introduced in Poland to cover most single- and reusable beverage packaging. There is little time left to prepare for the implementation of effective packaging collection. During this session, participants will jointly consider how to meet the challenges of the new legislation and what opportunities the deposit system will bring to Poland's waste management.

PPWR - how much will it cost us?

Growing environmental pressure is forcing EU countries to implement further measures to reduce the negative impact of packaging on the environment. This is why the European Parliament has adopted the PPWR, which brings significant changes for businesses. The session will discuss the challenges of packaging design, production and recycling in the face of the new regulations.
